Step One – Letter of Intent – due April 20, 2009
Complete the Letter of Intent included at the end of this document and return it via email to SVPT by 5:00 p.m. April 20, 2009. This will let us know you are interested in applying and provide the information for the SVPT Investment Committee to understand how you are helping new immigrants make full use of their potential and skills. The SVPT Investment Committee will select from the submitted Letters of Intent a short-list of agencies who will be invited to submit an application. All agencies will be notified of the status of their Letter of Intent by May 31st.

Step Two – Full Application by Invitation – due September 14, 2009
The full application will be due by 5:00 p.m. September 14, 2009. The application will provide SVPT with detailed information about the organization’s work and accomplishments, how it proposes to use the grant over three years, and how SVP volunteers can help build the agency’s capacity to serve the needs of new immigrants. Each applicant will work with a pair of SVPT Partners who will assist in developing the application as well as learning about how SVPT can work with the organization. More information about SVPT’s application support will be provided with the invitation to submit a full application.

A short list of potential Investee Agencies will be asked to make a brief (5-10 minutes) oral presentation to a meeting of all SVPT Partners in late October / November 2009. At this meeting SVPT Partners will vote to select our 2009 Investee Agency.
