SVP Toronto’s executive director to speak at national conference
Connie Clement, SVP Toronto’s executive director is speaking at the Canadian Environmental Grantmakers’ Network national conference in Toronto on Fri, May 28, 2010. The conference theme is the Power of Networks. Connie is part of a panel titled: Walking the Talk: Funders in Collaboration: Funders are adept at giving advice to grantees on the important role that partnerships with other non-profits can play in achieving shared objectives. But “walking the talk” can sometimes be more difficult. A recent report by GrantCraft, titled Funder Collaboratives: Why and How Funders Work Together provides good insights into some of the complexities underlying funder collaboration, as well as some of the opportunities for collaboration afforded by the economic downturn, the increasingly diverse philanthropic landscape and the emerging generation of young philanthropists. The funders represented in this session are already heavily invested in collaboration as an important part of their modus operandi. Come and learn how these funders, as well as others, are using collaboration to boost social and environmental outcomes.
Moderator: James Stauch, Vice-President, the Walter and Duncan Gordon Foundation
Speakers: Connie Clement, Executive Director, Social Venture Partners Toronto; Jenny Grimm, Arctic Funders’ Group Secretariat; Ross McMillan, President and CEO, Tides Canada
