Uncharitable: How Restraints on Nonprofits Undermine Their Potential with Dan Pallotta

Noon - 2pm
Location:
Tannery Event Centre
Address:

Is it time to stop asking "what percentage of my donation is going to overhead?" Dan Pallotta thinks so. He argues powerfully that if we don't level the playing field for charities, we'll never achieve meaningful impact on the massive social problems of our time.

The bestselling author of Uncharitable: How Restraints on Nonprofits Undermine Their Potential delivers a compelling case that non-profits could be stronger and more effective if they weren't restrained from using powerful tools such as risk-taking, entrepreneurship, competitive salaries, advertising, and profits to attract capital. Dan believes that the charity rulebook discriminates against the sector and that we must acknowledge and understand the box we've built around non-profits if we're going to be able to think outside of it.

Dan's opinions have created debates around the world. Join us on June 19 as he challenges our assumptions at a talk you can't afford to miss.

The luncheon is part of the CWR's goal to bring together the ideas, people and resources that drive social change. This event is for you if you are a donor, funder or nonprofit board member.
